STAINED GLASS WINDOW ART
Have you child fold a piece of black construction paper in half (or any color they wish, black just seems to make the tissue colors seem bolder). Now have your child draw a big, simple design, like a flower, star with different sections, sun, schoolhouse, bug, etc.
Let's use a flower as an example. After she or he draws the flower on the folded piece of black construction paper, let them cut it out (if age appropriate). Now there will be two pieces of the exact design. Now cut out different sections within the design of one flower. Place this over the other cut out flower and trace the new sections onto that. Cut those out of the second flower.
Take one of the flower shapes and using a glue stick, glue pieces of colored tissue onto each section. After this glue dries, glue the other flower shape over it so that the tissue paper shows through the cut out holes. Now place a piece of looped string on top so you can hang it in the window. So colorful and artistic! Send some to Grandma and Grandpa for their windows!
